Speaking to someone last night who said Riddy may be out on Friday because a problem with his ribs, I hope he's fit to face the pies... Would miss Riddy who has turned into an incredible talent under the wing of Basil

I would prefer Martyn to sit this one out if there is a slight doubt with an injury. Friendlies are not for proving your comitment to the cause. He has got a full competative season ahead to prove that.

If he isn't 100% then he won't play as far as I can tell from what was said at the forum about Beswick's injury. Gives us a chance to assess other half-backs combinations if he misses out.

It will be a shame if he misses the wigan game but there is no point risking him getting injured in a friendly. Riddy is going to be a key player for us once again this year and keeping him at full fitness for the 'real' season has to be the priority. If Riddy is out for friday then i'd go Brierly and Duffy at 6&7 with Beswick and Nicho as hookers.

No point at all in risking injured or niggled players now. It's a long season and as the last two years have proven, we are prone to burning out.
