Gateshead Thunder v Leigh Centurions

Thunder coach Steve McCormack says his players are fully focussed on Sunday’s Co-operative Championship relegation six-pointer.



Victory on Sunday would see Thunder narrow the gap on Leigh to just one point.



McCormack said: “Leigh will be a tough game, another big challenge, and so we have to prepare properly for that.



“We are building the kind of consistency we are looking for, but there are just three games to go and we have to be in perfect condition for all three of those games.”



Centurions coach Paul Rowley says the mathematics are simple.



Rowley said: “If we win, we stay up – it’s as simple as that. It’s a game of massive importance but we’ll go there and see what we can do.



“Last week was our most professionally 80 minutes of the season. It was like a cup final to us. The lads realised the importance of the game and responded well. The challenge is to back that up.”



Tom Hemingway has returned to Huddersfield while Ian Watson is “more out than in” according to Rowley.

meekin being spelled for hill, maybe castle this week to,

with young luiluia running like he does, any player should be able to play off the back of that pack.

I agree 100% the forwards were great. However near the line we are clueless enough never mind without watto and hemmingway. Cant see it being a victory on sunday although i would love it to be

Stewart has not has a good game for this club since he signed. Thats unfair though he did make a try saving tackle at Batley earlier this season.Ridyard has a good kicking game but his defence is dreadfull.



I think we will have to hope Watson is OK for the last 2 games and we beat Haven and get a bonus point v Fax.



Whoever selected our squad at the start of this season should walk.I mean by that playmakers/pivots and cover for vital positions in the game.
