| If it's not been posted elsewhere, my predictions for 2011 are:-
James Lowes - Contract not renewed
Chris Hicks - Contract not renewed
Vinnie Anderson - Contract not renewed
Richard Mathers - Warrington RLFC
David Solomona - Warrington RLFC
Brett Hodgson - Warrington RLFC; Player/Assistant Manager, most of his salary paid as Assistant Manager?
2013 Brett Hodgson - Manager of Warrington Wolves RLFC

Really ?
I thought they'd go back to Nobby, perhaps leave Iestyn at Crusaders with Jon Sharp as his number two.
If anything, maybe Lowes 'groomed' under Noble ...

I believe so along with Brian McDermott and Stephen Kearney. He is 10/1 with some bookies aswell.

| Quote getdownmonkeyman="getdownmonkeyman"Can you clarify something for me? It is widely acknowledged that Hodgson has signed for the security of a two year (probably final) contract. When the same situation arose with Phil Bailey and yourselves it was widely reported he had taken a pay cut to gain a final contract.
Can you explain the differences in respect of renumeration?'"
Because Bailey isn't the reigning MoS, wasn't moving clubs, and is an average player who's been kept around for his influence.
I don't really see the comparison with Bailey tbh, if i'm wrong about Hodgsons wage then fair enough. But surely you must assume he's not moving clubs for peanuts, even with the security of the two years?

utter tosh! he's head and shoulders above any recent signing your club has made, you slagged king off when he first signed, monaghan when he played at 7.
tbh your statement just reinforces what a good signing he really is.

| As a Giants fan I am sad to see Brett go but I think the Giants have made the right call on this, The reason for this is he will be 33 before he plays a game for you, he has played 7 out of 17 games for the Giants this season and is now out for another month.
If we had signed him for another year I would have been delighted, 2 years and it's a tough call but feel we have made the right one? this will become clear over the next 2 seasons after this one, as to if it was right or wrong.
You are getting a thinker, a great professional who is positionally brilliant and a great influence, but you are also getting a player who needs to be able to offload to someone when he has taken the high ball, chip thru or grubber cos the pace isn't there anymore but then again it wasn't when he won MOS either.
Whatever happens good luck to the lad as he has done us proud.

can this be done?
Smith is obviously bringing him here for his coaching abilities as much as his playing skills.

| Obviously there is a risk in giving Hodgson two years rather than one. The same is true for any player whether aged 22 or 32. Sometimes though if that's what it takes then you have to do it.
Remember common wisdom was that Warrington were the only muppets stupid enough to offer Morley a 4 year contract on his return to England. If that swayed Morley to sign for us then I guess we'll live with our mistake.

I don't think it can be done, I think the coaching wage counts on the cap as well. So any money they are paid by the club counts on the cap. Otherwise you'd have lots of people coming over as player coaches who ended up doing very little coaching I imagine.
