It reminded me of the KR game, a game where we could have lost but did enough/bounce of the ball went our way buy as the adage says the more I practice the luckier I get.



We needed to kill Leighs offloads which we didn't do enough, Thewlis should have slid across for 1st try.



Why was Hayes defending at centre and King doing the kick chase surely it makes sense the otherwise around.



Thought Vaughan quiet on return expected him to ignite the game but didn't.



Williams also quiet but we didn't get much possession in opposition 20.



Hayes kicks 1st half lacked distance but improved much better 2nd half.



Attack quite regimented 1st half, 4 forward carries Dufty on 4th and Hayes kick on 5th. They had us pegged and would quickly get to Dufty on the 4th. 2nd half much better.



Lack of zip about the play both sides of the ball. Understandably so with the tough games we have had but on another day like the Saints game you have Dufty and Williams sniffing for the offload/drop ball (although Dufty did well for his try)



Moore was quite poor at policing the ruck and offsides. Couldn't tell the video ref decisions as the sunshine made the big screen unwatchable. But it was nice to see a working scoreboard.



Fitzgibbon was immense as was Matty Nic.



Very happy with result and team spirit, would like to see that prop signing to keep momentum.

I thought it was a damn good game ,hard fought by both teams. It was obvious from the start that the Wire Old Boys & their new friends had come to mark our card.

I honestly do think Leigh deserved the win, BUT quite rightly there are many games where the better team doesn't win and we have been on the wrong end a fair few times. That's the way sport goes sometimes and you roll with the punches.

Don't get me wrong - I'm pleased we won (or maybe just relieved).

I think many posters on here have got it spot on when they said we looked jaded from the start - and Leigh looked quite the opposite.



I'm just wondering what next week will bring as this win has taken a lot out of them I think.

We really could do with some fresh bodies back - particularly forwards - but Currie and Musgrove are a few weeks away.

Tbf - There has been a little arrogance along the way in this thread, however, I wish you all the luck in your endeavours in the C Cup.

Is there some issue with Lam Jnr? He seemed to be in a real nark with his tea mates.

I don't know but, he certainly wasn't his normal self which stood out for all to see.

Lam Snr needs to address this asap. Also, We need Asiata back to take the captain's reins.

My pal is a big Leighther. He saw it as I did that from 60 mins it was obvious that Wire were on top with fitness and Leigh we’re burnt out.

That may be the case but for the first 60 minutes they were certainly a handful and looked more lively and inventive than we did. Great character and spirit from our guys to stick at it and work their way back into the game. Something we have not seen for a few years now. Great to see.

I felt we were in with a shout but I wasn’t particularly confident, I saw it as a bit of a test of character to be fair we came through.

I have to say if Leigh play like that consistently and they get more bodies back they will get some decent results.
