| Leeds were by far the superior team.... only a totally obscene refereeing display from silverwood prevented leeds from doing the job easily.... at half time wane must have told him to 'ref the second half like leeds are warrington'... he gave wigan every call... it was inept refereeing beyond all belief.....infact it was bordering on corruption.
luckily the rugby gods intervened and the best team won...... congratulations to leeds... they were easily the best team they deserved to win tonight's game.
without tomkins wigan were what we thought they are.... a bit clueless.... thats why we beat them all the time... we nullify tomkins and the rest of the players aren't good enough to live with us.

| Tonight - in my view Wane lost the match by playing an inexperienced youngster in a crucial position against one of the very best kickers in SL. It was obvious what Leeds would do. And Sinfield had one of his best ever matches for Leeds. It's just amazing how Leeds manage to turn it on when it matters.
I'd have put Richards in at fullback tbh and if Murphy had to play they he should have been on the wing, but I think Wigan probably have one or two others would could have played there (wing). Fullback is a key position these days.
I feel sorry for Murphy, but Wane should take the flak.
For tomorrow we have to stop Roby and Soliola - and also Puletua.

| Murphy wasn't targeted. They kicked to Charnley's wing and boxed Wigan in against the sideline. Simple tactics executed perfectly (take a bow Mr Sinfield) that nullified the league leaders. Rugby League at its best.

| One man team, although Silverwood tried hard to fill that gap. Guess Wigan's very own Elvis impersonator won't be on here with his "Yorkshire Mafia" conspiracy theories this week.

| To be honest, I can't even laugh at Wigan, I'm that annoyed.
Tonight was won of RL's prestige days of the season, yet the "ref" drops clangers
We might have got a few "never seen our game befores" (on Sky), and yet we get more reffing f ups.
Yes, it's now a 100mph game, but come on, Silverwood got so much wrong, it's untrue.
We can't go on making excuses for reffing f ups. Our game's been let down tonight. I wanted a true match, with no controversy. I only got 50% of that deal.
Tomorrow, we've got the accident waiting to happen (for both sides) reffing our game. I truly hope the side that wins has no pivotal (i.e. wrong) decisions, go their way.

tonight was wigans chance to show that they dont rely on tomkins brilliance..... they failed massively.
not only did they have virtually no attacking threat, but they looked like they didnt know what to do to get out of their own half without him.
never has a top team been so reliant on one player.
without silverwood they probably wouldn't have got in leeds half.

| It was very simple.
Wigan are that structured that if they lose one of their 1,7 or 9 they'll be doomed. They had no other option in the first half. They obviously got told to try the inside ball in the 2nd and Leeds learnt. Silverwood did his best for Wigan but they weren't good enough on the night.
It's simple.
Wigan are a 1 man team.

| thing is though, they shouldn't be struggling that much, unless it was the movement of SOL, cos tomkins is on the end of the plays always, he's last man, so it should just be a case that his replacement just learns and runs the same lines.

agreed.... people say its packs that win games...but in wigans case i think its almost physiological.. without him there they are already on the back foot..... i don't know if it effects the way the pack plays.... but they looked like a beaten outfit 10 mins into that first half... and lets be honest, that leeds pack isn't all that.
