If it's true we'll all get over it. Imagine a very tough game v (say) Wigan and he dumps one of their nastier players ... and we could all name one or two ... I bet there'll be great cheers. Most people here must have played with or coached someone who (in the first instance) they were not that fond of. It may take a bit of getting used to but as soon as Wolfie gives him a cuddle we'll be won over and wonder what all the fuss was about.

If he was in his full pomp maybe you'd allow it but he's just been rejected by Hull KR and Cas. Has he ever been an enforcer (and by that I mean enforcing without giving away a penalty/worse)?

I don't think anyone can be "an enforcer" in the modern day. I think the idea is a bit old fashioned. With all action scrutinised on video you can't fart without getting a ban. The tough players now are just not intimidated no matter what is thrown at 'em. e.g. Hill

Even at his best, he was never that. Penalty-wise, he won many more than he conceded. A good example is the much-loved vid of him being "owned" by Radford. What a lot of gleeful opposition fans tended to overlook were the facts that Bailey was unscathed, Radford was dismissed and Leeds won easily.



What he brought to the table was some very quick ptbs, a strong defensive effort with few missed tackles and the aforementioned ability to distract weak-minded opposition players. But it seems like aeons since he was doing that even for Leeds, let alone during his wilderness spells at hkr and cas.

What clearwing said . Although Bailey has his moments as the pantomime villain, he has always figured strongly in the business end of seasons and played his part in all our GF wins. IF he comes with the attitude to play then he could be a very useful squad member.

Why?...



As a Wire fan I hated Skerratt, A Shelford, West, McDermott....I see that same hatred around the club's today at Bateman, Hock(I know) Warmsley, LMS, Flower and one of our own.....WESTWOOD...the guy is the hated around the club's and almost everyone I speak to away fans,they almost always sound Benny out as dirty SO and SO.



Westwood....we love him. Is there anyone at Wire would have let him go over the last decade?



Back on topic, is Bailey any different from the players we all love to hate?

In all truth, I'd have loved every single one of those players in P&b I hated.
