How many dual registered players will be in cherry and white at Post Office Road on Sunday? The club is doing great things on the field and behind the scenes, you should try and put whatever grievances behind you. I suspect there is more to it than disillusion though.

That's wrong, you don't have to be "twinned" to accept dials.
Some interesting views on Swinton's uptake on the link with Wire.
The players named in the squad are bar three I believe season long loan players. In this day and age of players jumping clubs after one season contract, can anyone tell me the differance. As for we have lost our identity, does signing an individual in his own right amount to a clubs identification.
Swinton are simply operating within rules set up by the RFL, I for one am glad that we had the foresight to go with Warrington than say Widnes. The situation is open to all clubs as it is we got in with one of the better ones.
As for the integrity of the Championship.......is that no less than Super League with its closed shop attitude.

| I'm enjoying being told how I should feel!
Lets face it other than the C1 2011 league win we have had nothing to cheer for years. If, with dual reg players, we get in the playoffs it'll be an amazing season.
I go watching Swinton week in and week out home and away. I have been to Gateshead, South Wales, Cumbria, and London watching the Lions and I am happy with things. If I am happy and every Swinton fan, bar one moaner, is happy then why are you so worried?
Unless you feel like we are getting the better deal? So is it Swinton or Wire you're worried about?

| I seem to remember bringing this problem up when the dual registration situation arose only to be shot down in flames with the reply " It can't happen " ,but it can't be a good system that would give a player more chances to pick up injuries by playing extra games for another club especially if the pitches are not up to the same standard as superleague .

Well clearly Wire are getting a very good deal because they can bring on their youngsters in a higher level competition ( than the U20's). And they can also keep their 1st team match fit by the same approach. If I understand correctly, the match fees will be paid by Swinton, so again Wire will benefit there as well. The only disadvantage from our side is the loss of the U15 and U20 age groups, where we had spent a lot of time and money in building up.
I would be very surprised however if there is just 'one moaner' from Swinton who dislikes the current set up. All the Wire players that you are getting on DR are contracted to Warrington, and will remain so unless released. If you are happy to field another clubs players for a year, then get a new set the following, fair enough. But I don't see how that progresses your club. If all you wasn't to do is watch better quality players and have a chance of winning silverware, why don't you go the whole hog and watch Wire.

| Another advantage for Swinton and rugby league is that Warry fans may travel over to Swinton for the odd game. I certainly will.
Swinton, brothers in arms. Its the future, get used to it !

In the lower leagues clubs cannot really afford to build squads. If a player stays for more than 2 years he is a long serving club man. There are obvious exceptions. But as a rule it a merry go round of players. The only difference is now that these players are contracted to another club and if injured they wont cost us a penny.
If a club unearths a promising young player they are cherry picked by SL clubs. Hill from Leigh and Walmsley from Batley to name two. Its not like we can keep hold of them, as after all whats the best we can offer them? Promotion to the SL isn't going to happen.

Yes you do
Dual registration is only available to Twinned clubs , Loan deals are available to all clubs
Marshy , it isnt Swinton I am particularily unhappy with , they are unique among clubs in that John kidd has to keep them alive as a club without a home until he can get you back to Swinton , I have met John and have the utmost respect for what he is trying to achieve , and can understand that he does need to use whatever it takes
Ultimatley this expansion of the DR system does have the potential to finish off the Championships as a credible competition , and once the SL clubs get what they want n, they wont give it back

| The main problem I see with the problem is that it does undoubtedly dilute the clubs identify. As a wire fan, you want see players who have committed to the club, play an active part in the community off the field and are in the P&B for reasons other than getting match practice.
There should certainly be a limit - sending four or five of the youngsters would benefit both clubs - it would enable Warrington to assess youngsters progress and provide Swinton with some depth.
I was cautiously in favour of the system before but Wood & McCarthy? We, and they, aren't going to gain anything in footballing terms (could well set McCarthy back because I though he was outstanding the last few months of last season). For the system to work it has to be beneficial to all parties.
