Rubbish,



Firstly the north west has a lack of aquifers (natural underground stores of water) and lots of reservoirs this means water in wet months cant be stored very well as they have small capacities and evaporation is high in the summer months.



There is a long history of drought before 'new labour' came to power just lookup 1976 summer for an example



This country needs to learn how to aquire and store water more effectively, country's like Italy, Greece, Morrocco and Turkey dont have these problems even though they recieve hardly any rainfall in summer and have extended dry periods that can last 6 months

Don't know if you noticed that the population went past 60 million a year back. Since then, another 750 000 have come and is on its way towards 70 million by 2025.



All those extra people use water, electricity, land, roads, hospital beds, school places, etc etc. We only have a few upland areas to gatehr out water reserves.



So much for labour's open door mass immigration policy.

Here's a thought. Why dont we all stop wasting water rather than blaming those in power (who we know will do sod all about it in any case). Personally hosepipe ban aint a problem to me. Plants in the garden are drought resistant, car can go dirty and beer dont come out the tap!
