| Ah the Manc/Scouse debate.
Scousers think I have a Manc accent, Mancs think I have a Scouse one.
I was ina a dingy Hong Kong basr at about 6am a few years ago and some guy come up to me and asked how Warrington was. He picked my accent as he grew up in Stockton Haeth and lived in HK 20 years but still recognised the accent.
Any way as a Penketh lad with Widnedian parents and married to a scouser and living in Scouseland I am a WARRINGTONIAN.

| I've lived in Manchester for 9 years, Warringtonians, on the whole sound more Mancunian than Liverpudlian. However it is still a disctinct accent as far as I'm concerned.
I always tell people I come from Warrington. Firstly, because it's the truth, and secondly, because I'm proud of it. Everyone I know since I've moved here know that and are aware of my Wire affliction* and ask me about the games. I've had very senior people in work this week ask me if I'm going Wembley. Manchester and Liverpool are great cities with their own identity. We've got ours. Let's keep it that way.
*as we're not w*nky anymore, that some probably say affiliation

| What with 65-75% of my family being from Liverpool on my dad's side (technically I'm 50% scouse), I have a Warrington accent but certain words seem to have a scouse twang.
My sister however seems to talk with a hybrid Bewsey/Manc accent, but she lives with a scouser.

| I've lived in Manchester for over seven years, and my sister has lived in St. Helens for a similar amount of time. We grew up in Old Hall.
We both work in the same place (in Manchester) and people at work think I've got a Scouse accent and she hasn't. I know a lot of Scousers through supporting Liverpool and every single one thinks I sound like a Manc. A lad at work (from Salford) who supports United and has a couple of mates from Warrington who do tells me they talk Manc but he finds Liverpool/Everton fans from Warrington sound Scouse to him, even me with fairly long term Manchester residency.
It's a weird accent and no mistake.

| Warrington was not a major Roman town. The Romans only stopped to here to build an easy bridge at Bridgefoot ( made possible because of the shallowness of the water.) They were travelling to Deva ( Chester) from Colchester (forget name) and York (Ebor).
Warrington was known as Weirdton until the 18th century ims.

Latchford was where the brothels were in roman times. Not much has changed.

| Must admit when the county boundaries changed and we got kicked out of Lancashire I wish we'd gone into Merseyside rather than Cheshire.
