This experiment with picking the Exiles has shown the potential of how forward thinking RL clubs could use technology to get one step ahead of their rivals.



As there are a lot of expert analysts on rlfans why not harness the wisdom of crowds and get the team selected by a majority vote. This would mean the players have to play hard to impress the fans to keep their places.



It would also take the pressure off Tony Smith, without the consultancy of the fans he might risk picking Myler or Clarke but the rlfans crew can ensure that these errors are eliminated. Who knows it could be the difference between a win and a loss?



What do you reckon?



Maybe also potential signings could be determined by the fans on a yes/no poll?

The board could post a thread, "David Shillington wants £x per year, do we sign him?"



Obviously Cat would need to vet who was voting on these polls and make sure they are all Wire fans, we don't want Tricky Dicky and kingwarrior making strategic decisions on the future of WWRLFC

Some of our late 20's plus fans, may remember the Andy Currier debacle from the mid 90's

He'd left Widnes, and signed for Fev in a mega-money deal, and got injured within minutes of making his debut

After his long layoff, the rumour mill kicked in, and we were linked with him

Cue a load of letters to the Guardian from fans, saying we DON'T want Currier under ANY circumstances (I think there were even chants from the Fletcher end)...then Peter Higham came out and said "we won't be dictated to by fans".......Higham signed him, and look how he turned out. Is there mileage in this one Sal?

I don't think any other set of fans would have picked up on Clarke's decline as quickly as we have.
