The Wilderspool thread got me thinking of threads we could have discussing past players. Greatest memories etc. A different player every time a thread starts to drop in popularity.



I know he wasn't here long but I believe Graham Appo produced probably the best half season in the clubs recent history. That second half of the season after Briers broke his hand against London was simply breathtaking. Scoring from allover the field, got a new contract and tailed off.

Wouldn't even call it tailing off, Nikead. He was 3 in the 04 season (looked overweight), and the less said about 05 the better.

I remember being stood next a fella in the South Stand, in Appo's last season, and he said he's been a one season wonder wherever he'd been.

He's the only person I've seen ever properly replace Briers, only for 10 weeks or so like.



I think if I ever caught up with him, and given that the tax man can't I think the chances are slim, I would ask him :-



a. How he became superhuman overnight.

b. Why did it wear off just as quickly.

c. Was he taking any supplements.
