Following on from our thread where posters named their best 4 Warrington players, who is your all-time favourite Warrington player?

You will be naming your favourite player and not necessarily the best or most skilful player we've had.



For me its Dessie Drummond, Dessie was hard as nails & always gave 100%.

At the 1990 CC Final against Wigan, some Men had made a huge Dessie banner and were walking around Wembley displaying it for all to see, absolute quality.

Torn between two: Parry Gordon or John Bevan. Really can't decide.

Jonathan Davies. Can't ever see it changing but hope someone else comes along to bring the same level of excitement with ball in hand!

John Bevan. So many memories of fantastic performances from him.

John Bevan for me too and before Sally tells me that he didn't win enough Challenge Cups and others say that his try scoring stats are only this and that blah de blah I acknowledge it's based on a reflection of watching Wire in different times with P&B spectacles on for the full nostalgia trip

Des Drummond for me. As a snotty nosed 8 year old I watched Des compete in superstars at a time when Rugby league players were rarely seen on TV. I was over the moon when he signed for us. I will never forget the anticipation whenever he was near the ball in attack or defence. When opposition wingers would get the ball it seemed that they would run to the opposite side of the pitch to avoid having his head thrust into their body. I have never seen anybody tackle like that since.

More recently M Monaghan for completely different reasons. The most intelligent player I have ever seen in a Warrington shirt.

Its still hard to forget when Martin Offiah put 5 tries past Drummond at Widnes in 1989. Apart from that he was an outstanding player.
