Thats pretty much a home grown side that has come through Wigan's academy and it is a great achievement from Wigan that they can field so many home grown players. I wonder if any other side in SL could field a team like that?

| Leigh were at full strength. With having the Salford game called off they put out their strongest available team.

| So pleased to see Dom Manfredi on the field again - had a rough couple of years with injuries - excellent talent, hope he stays fit now.
Leigh seem to have a decent squad this season
I still don't know why we didn't team up with leigh after it seemed to be working for both clubs in recent years??

Paul Rowley mentioned at a Fans Forum late last year that Warrington saw us as being "too ambitious" to link up with. Can only assume that that was because we hope to apply for a 'licence' next time the bidding comes around whereas presumably Wire wanted something a little more long term?
There's also the added complication that, in line with said ambitions, we didn't want to become a 'partnered' club in the same manner as Swinton and Hunslet, and given the RFL's new guidelines that means we're ineligible to sign players on dual contract and can instead only sign a SL player if it's a season-long loan (and even then the parent club cannot recall them, which means they're unlikely to loan them anyway, and the loanee must also come from a club that isn't involved in a partnership).

| Wouldn't suprise me to see a Wire fringe player on a seasons loan at Leigh
If we had kept the intensity up the score would have been 50-60 today

I know this is a very dry and sarcastic post but I'm bored so I will bite
Chris Riley; Rhys Williams, Rhys Evans, James Saltonstall, Ryan Shaw; James Mendeika, Gareth O'Brien; Garreth Carvell, Micky Higham, Paul Wood, James Laithwaite, Ben Currie, Mike Cooper. Subs: Gene Ormsby, Gavin Bennion, Brad Dwyer, Danny Bridge.
I make that 15 home grown players we beat widnes with
