| Quote John Gilbert Reds="John Gilbert Reds"No chance of Carney to Hull FC, unless they can magic themselves an additional quota spot.
Salford are still confident, but the logistics of the move are complicated. A swap deal for BJB seemed the obvious switch, but Cas are put off by his current wage at Salford, therefore BJB to Hull FC and Cas to find an alternative replacement is the current word. Daniel Vidot was one player they were talking to. They've also signed Ryan Hampshire on a year-loan, but as a full-back or half there's no chance he'll be considered a replacement for Carney.'"
there seemed to be talk of off loading Michaels to free up a quota spot , & Jordan Thompson & one other ( Whiting ) in swap deal for Carney , however according to this mornings League paper ,its not going ahead Headline says ' Hull Players veto Carney move ' .
Carney isn't the only player to have a ' dalliance ' , but it seems there is a closing of ranks east of the pennines.

| The ex RU and bob sleigher has the size and you'd guess with his background in RU and that reality TV thing in Oz a fair bit of a ability and you'd think if the club managed it right there's a bucket full of publicity to be had from it.
The other lad again has the size, it strikes me over the last few years that other SL teams have unearthed forwards from the lower leagues so well worth a punt, guess it's harder for a half or back to make the jump in leagues due to the skill set but a prop especially it's more aggression and size that matters.

| I still think we really need a couple of big props if we are going to compete with other clubs and improve on last year.

Well with M Haggerty at 6'-5'' and 17st-4
C Kopezak at 6'-4'' and 17st-9
B Murdoch-Masila at 6-1 and 17st-13
I think you've got your wish, unless you are being greedy and want two more giants to complement them

I can understand what redwolf is getting at. We seem to have too many young props with potential rather than experienced battle hardened pro's. The balance in the front row of our squad just doesn't seem quite right to me although I'd love to be proved wrong. It just looks like it could possibly be our weakest link unless there are a couple of irons in the fire. Also isn't Masila a back row forward?

| Don't think letting Griffin go was a good idea, not a world beater but did what was needed when out there and added plenty of size and experience to the 17.

Think more and more you'll see a shift from the big hulking props, there is going to be a reduction of the number of interchanges per game this season (and I think the year after), what you'll see is more parity between props and 2nd rowers who can play more minutes without the need for spells on the side lines.
