| It does highlight the closed nature of how Peel are dealing with it. No news = suspicious minds.

| Peel holdings is a builder therefore it would be fair to assume since it's their project they would build it themselves. No need for any tender Mr Chair Maker!

As far as I know Peel are not a builder they own property and develop land but they don't build anything.
They own airports, The Trafford Centre, The Manchester Ship Canal and many other developments, look them up on line.

| Totally correct.
Peel are a developer.
The development, including stadium, will need to be capable of supporting the finance before they have the constuction work start.
Salford's crowds will not be enough ,in themselves, to support it financially so I guess it waits until there are some takers for the revenue opportunities the venture throws up.
I really do hope I'm wrong but the situation is unlikely to change in the next month or two.
We have been badly affected by the recession but I don't think there are too many grounds for optimism.

| Surley we are able to discuss this seen as the club said this stadium was happening all we here is set backs and no action the end of the day the clubs possition in the game depends on this and as loyal fans they have a right to ask questions and this fourm is the only place to tell the club and ask for information on the stadium. St helens fans get more information on there new stadium. personally i can not see ares happening i think this is why the club cant mention it as are franchise licence will be in jepoardy

| well a while back at the end off last season i saw malcom alker at a pub and started chatting to him.i asked him about the staduim and he started laughing about it and wouldnt say anything.its annoying cos the fans want answers and we aint getting any at all.And to be honest all this about myler with all the money salford offerd him,we could rather spend it on the ground really.

| ~WARNING DOOM MONGER ALERT~
The money the club offer Myler will be a pittance compared to the money needed to fund a Stadium. After years of watching this saga draw on and on and on interminably - I have reluctantly accepted it won't happen. I would love to be wrong but won't hold my breath. Our likely loss of Myler and Turner adds to the situation. I find it unbelievable that the sharks circling our young players won't snap Luke Adamson up as well - FWIW I believe he is superior to both Richie and Jordan.....
I find it hard to be positive about the club I have loved for 40 years and think we are heading for the buffers.

'IF' our new stadium over at Barton gets put on the back burner due to the recent climate I'm sure the Salford City Reds management will have already looked at the possiblity of playing Super League games at a nearby football stadium ie: The Reebok.
Here's hoping our new stadium over at Barton gets the green light soon, but in the meantime we must get things right on on the paddock from now until the end of this season, because next season is going to be massive.
We must do well because if we fail sadly we will be doomed and if they were to happen I for one could not see anyway back...

I know, almost as bad as getting halfway through building/redeveloping a ground and then "oh, f*ck, we can't afford to go any further, what the hell are we going to do now? Ah, let's just carry on using it, no one will notice..."

The Reebok? Wouldn't Old Trafford be a better option?
