| Quote charlie="charlie"I would say that is a fair viewpoint though. Some poor decisions made in the off season bringing in players like Meli and Morley.
Should be a different story for Salford next year.'"
You have had some bad advice so far. Unfortunately RL is awash with not just agents but 'middlemen' that will get teams to sign players on at inflated prices, not for the good of the club, but for the benefit of themselves. We had the problem big style at Cas with nearly all overseas players being signed from the same agent, who just happened to be a big mate and associate of the club employee who was charged with the task of recommending them.

| What is "The Star on Sunday"? It is not a publication with which I am familiar. Is it rather like various unpleasant newspapers, calling themselves "The Mail on Sunday" and equally unimaginative things? I would suggest you stop buying it and reading it.

| I see Meli and Morley's names mentioned quite a lot when people are talking about supposed 'bad signings'.
The facts are though that Meli's our leading try scorer (scoring more then double the next player and the only player to break double figures this year) and Morley's our leading metre maker (out of the props).
The question is: Are they really as poor a signing as what people make out?

I don't think they have been terrible. They are, however, only stop-gaps.

| I mentioned the other day that I'd love to see the stats for the meters made by Meli in the act of scoring, I doubt it will be many.
As for Morley he has done better than I thought he would and at the risk of tempting fate he has remained pretty much injury free.

| Tommy Docherty once said that the problem with Ted MacDougal was that he was useless apart from scoring goals.
Meli is a stopgap, which is why he was only given a one year deal, but he's done what it says on the tin.
Bugger the yards he's covered,he's in the try scoring charts

I think it is because it suits Garry Schofield.
He has something to do with Wish and they sponsored Castleford.
He must have liked you since then. [url=http://www.castigers.com/article.php?id=2681Story[/url
I think the mutual enmity between him and Hull FC (Adam Pearson ) is bubbling along nicely but he does seem to have been incorrect for a change [url=http://www.totalrl.com/garry-schofield-10-wishes-2014/Number 3[/url

| 'Schoy' may well be too controversial at times. But you can't argue with his criticisms of your club this season. He's spot on saying you are a club trying to run before you can walk and Garry constantly criticising Koukash's soundbites.
His praise of Cas was correct too. Even more considering their player recruitment compared to yours.
Salford fans need to accept the likes of Cas AND Widnes are much bigger clubs than their own. You need to overhaul those clubs before dreaming about competing with Wigan,St Helens and Leeds.

Oh. OK. Must admit, you can count on the fingers of one of Abu Hamza's hands the number of people on here who think we're up to competing with Wigan, Saints and Leeds, but you obviously needed to get something off your chest. I bet it was that "Widnes are a much bigger club" bit.

| I've just caught up on three newly updated threads on here, and they are all choc-full with comments from opposing fans. In fact two of them were started by fans from other clubs.
Do our fans go on their boards as much, offering them so many pearls of wisdom? I know we have had the odd loose canon go rogue in the past, but I hope we don't conduct ourselves in such an embarrassing fashion.
Can't help but notice most of them are Cas or Chemics fans. "One swallow" and all that...

It does tend to be Cas and Widnes fans. Don't know why, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't something to do with both towns having chemical related industries in the area, with the obvious stunting of emotional and intellectual development that can lead to.
