More of a pat down in my pockets if I'm being honest as they were bulging with shoe laces / tape but I did give myself up for it mind. could have done with a knife mind untiying the banners at the back was always a pain... |

Frisking is a big part of any business whether it be a Sporting Company or the Wholesale Business. They can frisk you and if you refuse they can rightly refuse you entry to the ground. It is all about H&S, whether it be to prevent missiles or weapons being taken in or just to stop the illegal consumption of alcohol. It should be seen as a good thing by everyone, only those that have something to hide need be worried. By the letter of the law it has to be done by the same gender and there needs to be another member present when it happens to act as a witness.

So if they are going to frisk people they do every single person who goes in the ground i didnt see much frisking going on at the main entrance where all the directors and their hangers on going in being searched |

Maybe with the tannoy announcments there was some form of testing going on or the stadium people were aware that they were maybe being observed?.
Aren't the security stewards employed by G4S rather than the stadium management company?

strange if it was done to prevent possible crowd trouble then why is it possible to move unchecked to all parts of the stadium the only time I have been physically searched was at the JJB /DW and ive not been since

Have a guess who is going to suffer if people who get frisked don't come back. We've got to stop separating club/stadium issues - they are one and the same in terms of outcome and perception. |

They can't search everybody, it's not feasible, hence why it's done randomly.
It's probably a reaction to a couple of n0bheads who've throw things from the standing area. Probably the same idiots who used to do it at the Willows. It only takes one idiot to hit a ref or an opposition player with an object and the SMC/club will get the book thrown at them (fines/parts of the stadium closed etc).
Blame the goons who can't handle their beer for it, it was only a matter of time.
