| Surely people can't be happy relying on away support to boost our crowds? If so then there really is no hope. The same number away fans from each club won't be in attendance next year due to a couple of factors:
1. The novelty factor of coming to a new stadium will have worn off.
2. The experience away fans seem to have had at the ground hasn't been brilliant, you only have to go on other teams boards to read this.
So what will we do next year then? Who will we rely on then?

Oh yeah, I forgot about the 1,500 fans we're going to attract from them.

| Prepare yourselves guys in 3 years time we will be praying that we can secure a new tenancy with Swinton in the new Salford Community stadium where they have primacy of tenure.I just see no good ending to where we are.The irony being that the City of Salford Stadium will have a team from Cheshire and a 2nd team from Stretford in it

I am not, but a certain football team in another council built stadium were relying on that for years and without a sugar daddy would still be now.
Yes I am very worried for the future, and the thing that is going to bring people in is winning but also forming some attachment to Salford city reds which the majority of the city don't have.

| Two good points Pev.
Winning will always be the big factor, but you hit the nail on the head when you said the people of Salford are generally uninterested in SCR. Maybe its football, maybe its the financial demographic of the area, who knows?

Totally irrelevant to Salford Rugby League Football Club. And I don't see the point in that post other than your hatred of City?
Quote BigpevYes I am very worried for the future, and the thing that is going to bring people in is winning but also forming some attachment to Salford city reds which the majority of the city don't have.'"
And if that's the case, we're fighting a losing a battle and we might as well call it a day now.
FWIW I think there is an interest in Salford for a successful rugby league team, it's just the lack of on field and off success in recent years that has knocked peoples confidence in Salford as a club. It it will take a few years of being a decent team to get that back, but there is interest out there not enough as we would like granted, but defiantly enough for us to be getting 8-10k on a regular basis with a good team.

They are generally uninterested in a team that has been consistently bad for 30+ years. I just do not accept there is such little interest in RL in Salford that we are incapable of doubling our support in the next few years. The potential number of people we could tap into is huge, but we don't.

Also a good point.
My thoughts on the subject is that Salford has a low number of hardcore fans and potentially a high number of floaters. Success would pull the part-timers in again, but success is a catch-22 for the likes of us that need more money from the turnstiles to compete. No success = no crowds. No crowds = no money. How can we break the cycle?
