| Adamson best second row we have? your joking right? he is a good solid defender yes he ran over a few wigan forwards last tuesday but thats the 1st time in about 3 years he has done anything in attack, he usually takes the 1st ball in a set of six laying a platform and for me he is a "ball killer" (ie when he gets the ball in his hands he just takes a tackle
as for having a killer offload last seasons offloads
Adamson 6
Sidlow 33
Neal 19
Anderson 38
Nero 16
Im hoping with PV and SL incharge he will find some form when he 1st started at salford
I would prefer if he came on as sub with Feka so he could do feka's defending and Feka could do his attacking if you know what i mean

Adamson is predictable, hardly seen him look to offload, hardly seen him bust tackles, hardly seen any evasive footwork skills, never seen him spin out of the tackle trying to evade being tackled'"
For once, I actually agree with you...
I do think he does have a better attacking game in him though, just needs the right coaching. This is going back a couple of seasons, but I remember the Challenge Cup game when we beat Hull at their place a couple of seasons ago. He seemed unstoppable going forward, spinning out of and busting through tackles - probably the best game I can remember seeing him in.
In recent seasons he's seemed too focused on ball security. Turns himself backwards into the tacklers to avoid losing the ball and just doesn't seem to run it in hard at all. Definitely think he's capable of more though.

| I'm with MR on this one, Adamson is starting to remind me of a young SBW. Fearsome in defence, strong running and a great pair of hands.
As for the Cas match, I'm really looking forward to what we can do against a team whose pack shouldn't smash us all over the park. There were some promising signs in the Wigan game and I'm convinced that. Given enough ball, Jodie & Danny will score for fun this season.

| Prior to the arrival of SMc Luke Adamson looked to have the makings of a top class forward. Unfortunately like a lot of the young promising younger players we have their attacking instincts were coached out of them, and the safety first one man dire rugby we had to endure for over three seasons was inflicted on us.
I hope with better coaching we see the true potential of a number of our players.

| I think Sean McC bears a heavy responsibility for a lot if our players going backwards, not just Luke Adamson. His attitude was that if you've not got the greatest talent in the squad then you just play percentage rugby meant everyone became fearful of making mistakes and never prepared to take any risks which in turn resulted in the dull fare we were presented with. It was obvious on the occasions when he first went off how much more expansive we could have been and hopefully will be this season.

(Points and laugh at this person) Also comparing Adamson to Sonny Bill Williams, well I'll treat that comment with the content it deserves....

| Adamson, be it coaching or the players style, is at a crossroad. No doubt he will give 100% and i agree he is fine in defence but needs to improve his attack. It is the latter that hasn`t progressed and i`m sure we all want it to, time will tell. But this year is a big year for him.
The player (apart from the new front row lad, Feka something) that has impressed me in pre season is Anderson whol has looked like the palyer we thought we had last year.
McPherson seems to have niggly injuires which has limited his impact, though what i saw i liked.
Going into the season 2nd row for me (FWIW) would be Adamson & Anderson, with a soone to be McPherson knocking on the door.
Still concerned with Gleeson and the right sided defence which looked weak, not just his problem I know as I would expect both the 2nd row man and LF to be covering.
Interesting start to the season and if Cas are missing 4 Front Row Men then we need to go at them hard and often up the middle to bild that platform for Reg & Smith to exploit.
Roll on Saturday ! We can comiserate on Monday as we always do

| Over the years I've stood on the terraces of Knowsley Rd , Central Park, Wheldon Rd, Wilderspool, even Headingley etc and discussed the relative merits of ours or opposition Players, not always in agreement but always in good humour , it's one of the things that makes our sport what it is ...
thats why I find it disturbing that an element of our own supporters cannot enter into debate on this forum without resorting to insulting each another because they have a difference of opinion.
Being a Salford fan we rarely buy or develop ' perfect ' Rugby players , and we don't have to look hard to find fault in all of them.
however that doesn't mean we cannot praise part of their game without copping for an avalanche or crticism or abuse.
lighten up !

You are right we haven't bought a player for many years now since the Bosman ruling! Just out of interest does anyone know who was the last Salford player to sign for a transfer fee?

| Quote Dantes Inferno="Dantes Inferno"I think you need to watch the game a lot closer to have Adamson in the squad. "I'm afraid a top club would of snapped him up by now if he was Great as you're making him out to be just like O'connor, Myler, Turner and Ratchford.
Again you talk utter bollox........'"
Once again your here spouting nonsense about somthing you didnt witness... Which was, Adamson's much improved performance on last season. RE your view that all good players are at "big club's" then how to you explain Mr Chase's (Man o Steel!) long term commitment to the mighty Tiger's - I'm sure you'll have a good answer for that one How you can comment on my observations on the game when you yourself have admitted you didnt even attend the game is beyond me. errr you dont know you werent there ?! I'll ask you again....Why do you continue to bombard us with your rubbish oppinions and insults towards those at the club when your not going to be attending any more games or supporting the club ? Surely you've got better things to do than follow, read and respond to my "bollox"...if not i'll await another witty insultive response
(to everybody else) I was'nt comparing Adamson to SBW (which is how everyone appear's to have taken my post) I am simply making a simple observation, which is he should start in our second row. It appear's most are split but the majority agree that Adamson is our first choice. My problem with Vinnie is his error count, he played 8 games less than Adamson last season yet made 20 errors compared to Adamson's 8, and in a game were possesion is king you cant afford to be making so many mistakes. Granted theres room for Adamson's attack to improve (which it already appears to under Long) but considering last season we had to defend nearly 1400 more tackles that Warrington (for obvious reasons) I'd rather have Adamson on the receiveing end than Vinnie.

Exaclty..but the likes of DI are only posting to gauge some sort of argumentative response, why I dont know. Probably because they lack social engagement in their personal lives, but mention you prefer Adamson over Anderson and you and the said player will be insulted from head to toe. The likes of DI dont realise they see this person for 80 minutes a week, and in that time people like DI focus soley on there negative down falls. Me on other hand will clap and applaud if that palyer does somthing worth clapping for.
When I said "you need to watch the game a little closer" what I should have said is. "you need watch the game in a different light"
