| Essentially it comes down to momentum - perhaps a basic physics lesson is in order?
momentum = mass * velocity
so at 16stone (=101.6 kg) we need to know how fast he can run. The general consensus is that there is a limit of around 30mph as the fastest that is possible, but then then he's a forward, so let's call that 15mph or 6.7 metres/sec
So when he hits you the momentum is ~680 kgm/s
However, momentum is a vector quantity so the impact will be affected by the direction relative to what/who e hits......
Regardless I'd not want to be stood in front of him!
Welcome to Salford Jon Molloy - I hope you use physics to our benefit.

One thing; Usain Bolt has managed to run at 27.45mph and something tells me that the newby isn't as quick as Bolt. And Of course, the force generated by body composition must also be accounted for. How does this effect the physics.

| Molloy was at Wigan when Vievers coached there. He did well in our reserves but went to Huddersfield along with Sarsfield. It did not work out for either which may be a reflection on Huddersfield who regularly failed to field reserve teams for fixtures. For the physics guru, the ability to 'ride' and 'evade' tackles alongside balance are often more important than pure physics. A Vievers signing IMO but was a decent prospect.

| Jonny Molloy is a very decent player, had a run of games at Huddersfield under Nathan Brown and did very well, certainly looked like he was going to become established. He then suffered a bad knee injury which he subsequently re-injured. Due to injuries he never saw the first team again.
His failure to "make it" would not be a reflection on Huddersfield but bad luck with injuries. I understand that when released in November he already had a deal agreed with you, but then you imploded prior to the good Doctor's rescue.
You will no doubt have thoroughly tested his knee to give a three year contract.
Not the signing to transform your team but if fit a very good signing as a squad man with high potential upside.
Finally, he is not a big forward, unless he has seriously bulked up I doubt he is 16 stone, more of a Lee Gilmore or Stephen Wild build and like both of them a great enthusiasm for tackling.
