| I took my kids yesterday we were treated very well they opened the gates to let us in, and escorted us to the mini lift in the east stand. I however insisted on going back to the turnstiles to get all our eight tickets scanned in as we may have not counted on the official attendance otherwise.
I was shocked to find out this morning that someone I work with took his son and both he a season ticket holder and his son were frisked. He was really upset about it , in fact said he had had enough.

| One of the problems here is that if you start treating people as though they are thugs, you start to create an atmosphere where people may be more inclined to act like them.

Frisking is a big part of any business whether it be a Sporting Company or the Wholesale Business. They can frisk you and if you refuse they can rightly refuse you entry to the ground. It is all about H&S, whether it be to prevent missiles or weapons being taken in or just to stop the illegal consumption of alcohol. It should be seen as a good thing by everyone, only those that have something to hide need be worried. By the letter of the law it has to be done by the same gender and there needs to be another member present when it happens to act as a witness.
Lets concentrate on the Rugby rather than pick on silly little things like this. Just because something is new doesn't mean that it is wrong.'"
WHAT ?!?!?!?!?
Clearly you ARE missing something. Sorry... but I can't take such a polite response on this one.
Rugby League has always been a sport you can go to where you feel safe. Never has it needed frisking before... and it doesn't need it now.
This isn't a silly thing.... If the club don't get things right off the pitch... then the rugby will suffer in the long term... and this is not at all right. Don't even start me on the Health and Safety brigade... who ALWAYS go over the top
Fact is... it made me feel very uncomfortable...so therefore... it's wrong... so it DOES mean that it's wrong.
If you are happy to be assumed to be a thug before going into a rugby league game, then good for you... I DON'T !!!
Oh.... and only being worried because I have something to hide... I'm not 'worried'... not have I anything to 'hide'... I just think it is completely unnecessary.

| What Stewards Are Supposed To Do
Their primary duty is to be responsible for the safety and comfort of spectators within the stadium and designated areas;
To keep gangways, stairwells and all entry and exit routes clear;
If an evacuation of the stadium is required to assist in its orderly completion and to make certain they are aware at all times of the proper procedures to follow
Help the Police in identifying anyone who is banned from the stadium or anyone who does not have the correct entry requirements for the ground (stolen, duplicate or counterfeit tickets);
To make sure that the conditions upon the Club’s safety certificate and their ground regulations are met at all times (standing in all-seater stadiums is covered here);
To eject any fans for breaches of ground regulations;
Adhering to any Club policy dealing with searches as a condition of entry to avoid prohibited items entering the stadium:
To be fully aware of all medical support and safety equipment;
What Stewards Are Allowed To Do
Under English law (which will include Wales for these purposes) Stewards have no special powers but are able like anyone to have a power of arrest where:
a breach of the peace is committed in their presence;
the person effecting the arrest reasonably believes that such a breach will be committed in the immediate future by the person arrested, or;
a breach of the peace has been committed or the person effecting the arrest reasonably believes that breach of the peace has occurred and that a further breach is threatened.
A breach of the peace occurs whenever harm is actually done or is likely to be done to a person or, in their presence, to their property, or where a person is in fear of being harmed through an assault, affray, riot, unlawful assembly or other disturbance.
Stewards have no legal power over and above anyone else to do more than is detailed above.

| Hull Kr have history (as we do unfortunately) of bad behaviour on the terrace and are viewed as a high security game so being frisked is part of that I surpose, what I found bizarre was a security guard walking up and down Liverpool road miles away from the ground did anyone else see him?
I was frisked regular at the willows and various grounds around the country both at football and rugby (probably because I was carrying the banners in a bag big enough to fit a AK47) didn't bother me if I'm honest.
It's a stadium issue nothing to do with the club

Frisked at the Willows? Really? We're talking about the sort of search you get at an airport if you set the alarm off, not simply a rummage through a bag.

More of a pat down in my pockets if I'm being honest as they were bulging with shoe laces / tape but I did give myself up for it mind. could have done with a knife mind untiying the banners at the back was always a pain...

So if they are going to frisk people they do every single person who goes in the ground i didnt see much frisking going on at the main entrance where all the directors and their hangers on going in being searched

| Maybe with the tannoy announcments there was some form of testing going on or the stadium people were aware that they were maybe being observed?.
Aren't the security stewards employed by G4S rather than the stadium management company?
