Hello,



I've been a Sale Sharks supporter for over 12 years, and last season became very disillusioned with the direction the club has taken (moving from Stockport etc). Anyway cutting the rather boring story short, I decided earlier this year to attend a Reds game, and I honestly cannot believe what I have been missing out on for years! Rugby League is simply light years ahead as a spectator sport - for entertainment value it is astonishing.



Since watching the Reds this year (tried to get to most games), I feel like a young man again. What I mean is the adrenalin levels have shot up inside because I am sorry to say that even a 'good' rugby union game can still leave one with such thoughts after the match like..."and what was that" and such disillusionment - why did I abuse myself all these years.



The Salford club truly must get out into southern Manchester and Cheshire to awaken rugby diehards who are either ignorant or oblivious to the RL code as it truly is an amazing sport to watch. Your wonderful new Chairman comes from a non RL cultured background and, like me has taken an instant love to the sport.



As for playing, well that's a different matter. If I was 20 again I still wouldn't have the balls to play. RU is a tough game, but League is at another level. It really takes a lot of courage, stamina and amazing skill and athletism to be involved at that speed of action for 80 minutes, even as an amateur.



Anyway just wanted to say 'ello, and that I am now officially an RL convert from RU! No more Sale games for me. I am also astonished at how they have arrogantly 'made their presence' at Salford City Stadium. The Reds/Red Devils need to get the marketing machine in full spin and get the clubs identity nailed truly to the mast. It has enormous potential.

Has anyone explained the tradition of buying us all a drink? there's only a few of us so it's not a dear round, next season though there will be 9,000 who are coming on Sundays after a campaign on Facetube.

It's nice to see that RL can still amaze newcomers. Listening to some of the doom and gloomers in RL our game has become dull and washed-out. It's easy for long time RL fans to take the sport for granted, when it still has the power, especially live, to really thrill people who have never seen it before.



Once your eyes are opened to RL nothing else will ever do.

Welcome Worzel. I hope that this is not a wind up. I don't think it is. But perhaps you could shed some light on something that has confused us league fans for generations. What is it about rucks, mauls, scrums, line outs, and in particular kicking, that has union fans in such delirium? I have never understood that.

Thanks for the welcome fellas. As for why RU is more about contesting unessessary technical rules and regs, well some clown 150 years decided to complicate a simple game, perhaps to make himself win a noble prize or something. Both rugby's are different, and some prefer the 'chess' aspect of RU, but thrill and enjoyment of seeing classy runs, passes and speed, to me is more akin to what rugby should be.



After 12 years of following union, I am delighted to say I can now allow my hands a rest after all the bl**dy clapping when a flanker or full back boots the football into the congregation!



I believe that there are some RL world cup games being staged at Barton?



Oh, and for your information the last Sale game against Wasps at SCS had a true official crowd of 5 and a half thousand, not the seven or eight thousand that Sale like to hype about.



Don't fret about Salford's low attendances last season, they WILL pick up when this star studded new pack do their duty in 2014.
