Did anyone go to the residents meeting at peel green last night. Was anything said about the stadium from J.W.

yes we went. he said if the funding doesnt appear on the venture with the college there is no plan B and the stadium will not be built and we will not get another SL franchise. The date for the announcement for the funding is July sometime couldnt remember what date he said.



People were asking questions mainly about traffic and disturbance.

John himself said we will find out very soon, however a member of the council in the meeting said it will be the 24th when they find out if they have the funding.

Basically from what was said we're pretty screwed if the funding from the college dosn't come through then there is no plan B which made me very angry as we've been PROMISED YES PROMISED in the past that this stadium will happen no matter what, but from what was said yesterday I wouldn't hold my breath. Looks like I'm right after all and the stadium will not be built. He also said the rugby league want to see bricks by the end of the year or else we won't be in when the next round of licenses come around!!!



Make of that what you will. I know what I think!!!!

working for a college that was in the first Round of funding I think that Salford will get funding in the next round, colleges were encouraged to amalgamate and the carrot for the funding for a new build. I am VERY positive about this.

what we should also worry about is the fact that the willows has already been sold to a developer ,so what happens if the stadium falls through?

The LSC's pot of funding has been reduce quite drastically and so they can only fund x-amount of projects as someone has mentioned.



They are looking for quick wins in projects that can be turned around quickly.



If, as previously said, the stadium is a 52 week build then I would consider this a relatively quick win and so should get the funding.



It all depends on our pitch to the LSC and what competition is like from other projects.



Only time will tell ...
