Quote gutterfax="gutterfax"Looking back at the 2 warm up games...England would have put 30 past Samoa, but the Kiwis would have put 50 on the Maori......and this board would have gone into 'England to win 4 nations" meltdown.
As it is, PNG will struggle as they have a pretty much 100% 'local" team with little NRL experience and england won't get caught out like they nearly did in the RLWC.....and I say it's between an Understrength roos and England to see who plays the Kiwis in the final.'"
Thats the trouble with PNG this time round... their team is virtually all 'local'
I read they had a good second half the other day in a warm up match...against some Queensland side I think it was.. can't remember who off the top of my head.
The PNG players will be desperate to impress though... they want to play in the NRL or SL. If they put in a good performance against a rusty Australia and the Kiwis... well who knows what might happen against the Poms? And it looks like Stanley Gene has fired them up.....
Bit early to say without seeing what the Kangaroos have to offer in this tournament... but realistically the top team on the ladder at the end of this should be NZ or Aus... with England and PNG in 3rd and 4th.
By the time of the final round in NZ it should read Australia P2 W2.. NZ P2 W2.. so there are your finalists. I expect Australia to rest some players for this one... but a second place finish will be enough for the final.
PNG and the Poms will be fighting it out in their last game for the wooden spoon.
And I know who i'll be going for out of that one!
