Once he's failed a drug test, served a two-year ban and then assaulted a referee we can throw that comparison around.

No he just assaults students.

Every club in SL and probably a few in the NRL would 'take a chance on him' - which may be part of his problem. He's an electrifyingly good player who has been quickly elevated from Fev Lions to celebrity status, albeit in the relatively small and niche environment of RL. That's probably a difficult transition for a young lad, who may have sacrificed some of the more academic aspects of his education in favour of sporting achievement...



For what it's worth, this looks to have been well handled by the club - the police have chosen not to pursue the matter, but Leeds have followed their own internal disciplinary process and sanctioned him accordingly; Uncle Brian has been more candid than he needed to be with his press statements, but that could be designed to heap some public shame on top of the sanctions that have already been applied.



Despite the best efforts of some fans of other clubs, there's not much to criticise Leeds for in all of this; plenty to criticise ZH for, but that's a cross he'll have to bear - with great power, and all that jazz.

The Rhinos' actions seem to me to be measured and appropriate. I don't recall people on this forum saying otherwise.

So, nothing at all like Hock then.

Hardaker, like Hock and many others, is fortunate to have a talent and support, otherwise he, and the others, would probably would have been detained at her majestys pleasure before now.

No they wouldnt. I'm as happy as anyone to have a go at Gareth Hock but theres no way he'd be jailed for anything he's done as most of his indiscretions have been on the pitch and no-one gets sent to jail just for taking some cocaine.



The same applies to Hardaker.

I think he meant without rugby in their lives they could have gone down a different path shall we say, based upon the posters understanding of the two individuals mentioned..dunno about Hardaker but I think Hock would be a good candidate for doing some things that would get him into bother with the law.. I could be completely wrong but he does come across as being a bit of a bezerkoid at times.
