Unfortunately ESPN have the rights to next seasons Aussie rules games. As these games clash with the NRL, I would say its unlikely that they would bid for the contract.
Regarding internet streaming, there as always been an internet based subscription service available. This was provided by big pond. For a few quid a month you can watch all NRL games, I wouldn't recommend it myself, the streams were unreliable and quality appalling.

When Setanta first got it, it was far superior to Skys coverage. Sky showed one live game on a Saturday and a delayed game on a Sunday. Setanta showed the same plus the Friday night game and the footy show. |

Thats about the only good thing about not living in Australia right now.....I don't have to watch those boofheads on my telly anymore.

Are you sure your not getting mixed up with AFL, i've just checked the link and didn't find anything at all about the NRL. I maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
I really hope someone bids for it other than ESPN because off clashes with the AFL games I don't think you will see much live rugby. ESPN took up the rights for the French top 14 RU competition, over Eurosport. With scheduling problems your lucky to get one live game a week. Hopefully it won't come to that! |

I watched the NRL Grand Final on ESPN this year, haven`t heard anything to say it won`t be on ESPN next year aswell.
