Quins or Crusaders I reckon, if he is interested in still playing top flight RL.

I'd like to see him at Quins, only worry is that he'll be one of those cry babies who go home after 2 weeks cos they miss their mum's cooking.

Then bloke generates strong opinion in Hull, I think its unlikely FC would have won the cup in 05 and made the Grand Final the year after without him, I also think there’s a strong possibility Rovers wouldn’t have survived our all important first year in Superleague without him, so in a way Rugby League in Hull should be thankful for his career however turbulent and controversial its been.



I wish him all the best and agree a move to somewhere like Quins/Crusaders or even a newly franchised Widnes would be perfect for him to start a fresh, get well away from Hull and try and rediscover his best rugby.

The lack of qualtiy English half backs may be Cooke's saving grace for getting a Super League contract although I wouldnt be at all surprised if he doesnt get a deal.



A career wasted IMO. At the end of 2006 Paul had a Challenge Cup winning medal and an appearance at the Grand Final under his belt at the age of 25. If he didnt have a few off the field issues at the time I am led to believe he would have travelled down under to represent GB in that years Tri-Nations.



Since then he may well regard the Hull KR Super League survival year of 2007 as a career high but I would suggest he may look back at some regret over how his career panned out.



In 2010 he just looked out of shape and disinterested when at 29 years of age he could and maybe should be leading teams to major finals based on the talent he undoubtedly had.

Couldn't blame anyone there.

I may have missed something here but apart from the 'judas' trip across town what has he actually done wrong to warrant stick? Is he just a bad apple or something? What happened at HKR and Wakey?

With a full preseason at a new club he would be a decent signing for Crusaders or Quins. A good player and very good on his day.

well he was one of our top earners and an important part of the team and we showed him the door mid season so I am guessing everything in the locker room wasn't rosey!

Nothing much which is why he wasn't offered a new deal. The guy's lost his passion and pride for the game as well as his athletism and slowed down. He's not got the work rate to be a 13, but isn't creative enough for a position in the halves.

Does anyone remeber Karl Hammond? On his day a fantastic player, but struggled for consistancy and dissapeared before retirement age. I just used to get the feeling he didn't actually like playing rugby that much.

While at Hull: several driving convictions including drink driving. Got community service for assault in a nightclub which included hitting a female.



at HullKR he was dropped for a derby (2008?) after falling out with Morgan, and they shipped him out to Wakefield pretty quick.



somebody may gamble on him...but its clear to see his lost his fitness and his 'drive' and is therefore pretty much ineffective these days.
