I dont neccessarily agree that they should go straight to the final, but reverting to the old format of a home tie with the winner straight through or another home tie and a second bite of the cherry should be the minimum reward for having a great season. Make it far harder to to get to the final the lower you finish and the league suddenly becomes much more relevent. Well done Huddersfield, fanatstic effort from the most consistent team this season. I actually really fancy them to do it this season!

Good to see the usual suspects talking down the achievement.



Thing is, the RFL need to make more of a deal of it. I think some of the players, who were overjoyed to have won it, got a bit embarrassed by the time they held their prize and realised it was a designless hubcap that weighed a few grams. It was a bit of a slap in the face for 27 games of hard work.



Look at the NRL's prize for finishing top and you see what I mean:





The design of a prize often gives it more meaning. Everything about the LLS gives people a reason to mock winning it.

Great for the game & great for clubs like ours(KR) & Salford, Widnes gives us hope & a model of how it's done. Now go on & win the big one please.

Eight unbeaten (I think) so despite the rubbish posted on some boards, this Leeds fan would prefer a third-place finish in the league.

Won by a young British coach with a team rapidly shedding the antipodean journeymen.

Good to see another team taking honours, this far surpasses any CC win by an unfancied side IMO.

the champione chant was one out of sheer excitement,dont forget its 81 years since a Huddersfield team "won the league" so im sure we could be forgiven for getting a little bit over enthusiastic last night.

9 games won in a row and with a team that most people, including our own fans, thought would struggle to make the 8 never mind win the LLS.

as I posted in another thread, for others it might not seem like a big deal but to us its a truly massive achievement.

When will huddersfield fans stop rabbiting on about their precious regular season results and learn that things can go down differently in the playoffs.

I just don't get thye downer that everyone is putting on Hudderfield's achievement? What the hell is wrong with people? They've played some fantastic stuff this season. Best of luck for the playoffs. It's yourselves or Wire for mine.

Congrats Huddersfield. Well deserved and wouldn't be at all surprised to see them lift the big one.

Well done to Hudds. they have played some great stuff this year and the top spot is fully deserved.i am still a bit sceptical on wether they can sustain it throughout the play offs but do believe they have the right coach to keep feet firmly on the ground.PA has been there before as a player and knows what it takes to get the job done when the heat is on.



The first weekend is critical to their chances IMO,far more so than the other top four teams who have been round the business end long enough to be able to bounce back.hudds. have to instill the belief early that they can do it by beating wigan/leeds in that first game.if they can do that i see no reason they cant go on and win it.lose,and i feel it will be too much of a blow mentaly to recover.

Theres 3 trophies available to win, the LLS is probably the 2nd on the top club coaches list at the start of the year. Hudds have done it. Nobody else has, well done to them. They have put themselves in a great position to challenge for the big one, I think we will see a Leeds v Saints final, but Hudds have the best route, the most advantages and have momentum they have everything to play for.

I'll assume you'll be far more gracious if they go on to win at old trafford.

If they do they can rightly be called Champions and will deserve all the plaudits.

Well played Huddersfield, for me the table doesn't lie and they have been the best team thus far - and if they get over their apparent mental block in the big games then they will take some stopping.
