Can't believe Neil Fox hasn't been picked RL and wembley legend, record points scorer. Devalues the statue for me Martin Offiah couldn't lace Neils boots.

Think the problem is that the great legend Neil Fox is always Wembley associated with missing the kick in front of the post. Where Offiah is seen as probably scoring the best solo try ever seen at Wembley.

And it wasn't even Neil who did that!

Agree and feel the same applies to Leroy Rivett. Just think how many tries he would have scored in that great Wigan side.

Offiah should be no where near the list, he could run fast in a dominant team of the time, there's nothing THAT special about it. Put any speedster in that team and they would have done the same.

If it was to be one man only I would have been okay with Boston, however I don't even think we need a real life figure/s to represent our sport in statue form.

It would have been far less contentious to ahve two players say in a one on one tackle maybe grasping desperately around the waist of the other in full flight would have represented the sport more than adequately. I think having a plaque not just mentioning the history of the game re Wembley but also the names of all the Lance Todd winners with space for more would have set it off nicely.

Still can't see why Hanley wasn't included.

Beat me to it, best and most feared player I've ever seen. He was a far more influential player of that era (if eras are how we're judging this, by the RFL's press statement). Plus he'd make a few folk happy when one considers where he hails from.
