Think maybe people are reading too much into having a big name company. Our national team andhome based international competitions are sponsored by Gillette who are great supporters of RL.



I personally would prefer a company who be an atctive promotor and supporter of RL, like Engage, rather than someone who just signs a cheque.

For all we know something might have already been agreed the RFL have a habit of trying to build things up in the media by putting out a Press release a week before the season.

To be fair though he has no clues about most things rugby related.

I heard it from someone called Donald Drake that SL will be sponsored next season by Disney

Elonex.

A multi-year deal will see Elonex become the official LED supplier to rugby league’s top-flight clubs.

Elonex will supply LED perimeter signage for all televised Super League, Challenge Cup and international matches from the 2012 season onwards. The deal will also see all Super League clubs stadiums fitted with the perimeter signage over the next two years.

Elonex will also sponsor all Super League match officials and look to develop a number of other new technology offerings for the Rugby Football League.

We've apparently agreed to be sponsored by Terry's Chocolate Oranges in exchange for some free samples with minor superficial damage to the box. The chocolate is intact.

They aren't the title sponsors.



The latter part of that is interesting though. New technology offerings, such as? Maybe we can get the Hawk-Eye like system in place so we can detect forward passes (including the "momentum" rule that isn't momentum!).

Heard a rumour that it's Plusnet. And it's from a decent source.
