Can't see that happening to be honest. Alcohol sales etc would be completely unmanageable in a public open space detached from the stadium. Can't see the people who live close being too pleased.
Closing Strawberry Place would be best bet. Also a decent amount of space behind the other pitch side stand. |

good to see the Newcastle Tourism board have already put a link up to a 'discounted' accommodation website, not sure if its actually any cheaper or not, but at least they are already promoting it 8 months in advance.

Certainly seems cheaper then sites like late rooms/booking.com when I've been searching.
I took a gamble on the dates the other day and booked four rooms for the Saturday at the Holiday inn near the Metro centre which was £70 a room so happy enough with that.
Should be a good weekend. |

For anyone watching the pennies, watch out for the £9.50 caravan holidays on offer in newspapers. There is a park on the outskirts of Whitley Bay, from where you can get the Metro or a bus into Newcastle. |

Having visited them, Stadium of Light in Sunderland would have been a far better choice and parking is relatively easier.
