He tweets suggested he would end up on one of these programmes, but this really is the bottom of the barrel. At least on the jungle, though eating bugs and the like, you end up being able to improve your standing in the world of celebrity. That Strictly and the ice dancing ones would be the best to help his post-playing career. This is just full of non-entities.



(Of course, this means I watched it last night. All the good work Thomas has made in coming out and being gay and playing rugby was pretty much written off by the presenter saying how he's like to be in the middle of a load of rugby players.)

Cant think which is more sad,,Gareth for going on the programme.or the the people who watch the rubbish.

A television programme too high brow for village idiots and Jeremy Kyle show audience members. Rendered even more irrelevant now it is on the dribbling imbecile of television, Richard Desmond's Channel 5, a channel most Sun readers think is too thick.



Good luck to him, hope he makes a load of money out of it but at this stage in the show's life he could allege that Richard Lewis was involved in an affair with Margaret Thatcher and no one of any note would ever find out or care.

He might be there for as few as 10 days.



If he won, then he'd get lots of interview offers that would be much more than the appearance money.

As for publicity for RL, I think the media will see him as a former Rugby Union player. They might call him a former dual code player. Unless he stays involved in League (à la Jonathan Davies), then I fear his League days will be forgotten outside of the RL community.

I hope he doesn't mention our great sport on it.



I hate to take the 'moral high ground' when it comes to this kind of television and put people down, and it's something I have actively been biting my lip about recently (especially when people talk about 'Towie' or 'Desperate Scousewives'). However on this occasion I genuinely can't see how this programme benefits the human race, utter trash, and I hope our sport isn't dragged into the gutter along with the shameless money grabbing Thomas.



Might sound harsh but my views are my own.
