I think in other years that would be a really good idea and it would produce some really big games bringing in the crowds. And whilst even for some SL supporters Leigh v Fax should be a good game to watch, would Wigan or Huddersfield supporters want to stay and watch Oldham v Saints? I don't mean any disrespect to the Championship teams that have drawn SL opposition but despite for the first time in however many years there are a good few Championship/1 teams left in the 5th round, would they draw in crowds? We rely on the SL teams bringing their supporters but sometimes the games just don't appeal and showing them on TV can stop people from attending. Fax v Bulls CC4 last season was on BBC and the attendance was only 4500-5000 - and that was the first derby (aside from Langleys testimonial) since Fax dropped out of SL. And unfortunately unlike the FA Cup, the lower league teams find it harder to pull off a shock win cos the game is so physical and the gap is so big. Would it have a positive impact promoting the game? Unfortunately games like Fev v Cas are few and far between.

Hull have sold 3500 tickets so far.

I've been to every Magic Weekend staying for the whole weekend each time, so of course I'm going to one only a few miles down the road.

We haven't missed one yet, but did say that we wouldn't go this year if it was in February in Cardiff again. Was very cold and expensive. We will be going to Manchester and staying over as CBA to drive there and back two days running.

60k over two days is a let down for me.

Well I'll be there. Haven't been able to afford the trips to Cardiff and Scotland but this one is withing reach and I will be there with a few others that haven't been able to to go to previous ones.

I'd be stunned if we or those 2 took that many tbh.



The reason I say that is because between us and Saints we couldn't quite sell out the HJ for a CC semi final so with this basically being a glorified away league fixture I don't see it.



As for Leeds their away support coming to this side of the pennines has always been pretty abysmal so again I'd be stunned to see 7k there.

At the same time these teams can easily sell 30k tickets for Cup Finals and Grand Finals.

We'll sell loads...........Salford away is a massive game for us, repeat of the good friday derby !!

To be a success we'll need plenty of nuetrsls there and to do that we need to be advertising the event. I work in Manchester and haven't seen a thing yet. If only somebody would let us have over a million pounds worth of promotion for free! We best get speaking to Stobarts to see if they know anyone that daft....
