On know it*s not telly but on Talksport this morning i think it was Ray Houghton and Ronnie Irani were saying how they really enjoyed the grand final on saturday,,and then on the afternoon slot think it was Hawksby and Jacobs,,again they were really talking up Saturday game,,some good post over the weekend on Skytexts page 459 as well....

H&J are the best Talkfootball presenters for RL. They regularly mention the game, and both go to the Challenge Cup Final.



I read a tweet off the Welsh comedian Mark Watson after the Wire-Leeds game that went along the lines of 'i'm a south welshman, but I have to admit this game of rugby league is brilliant'

What's even more interesting is that I've not heard anyone, celebs or otherwise, bigging up England RU or the RU World Cup in general. In fact the only stuff I've heard has been criticism and boredom.



SL has attracted some excellent and enthusiastic comments from people in the public arena in the last few weeks. What a shame we don't have people at the top who know how to capitalise on them.

Quite a lot of cricketers and footballers have good things to say about RL. Sides is a Bulls fan (I think), Matthew Hoggard likes it, Fred Flintoft's partial to a game, Nicky Barmby is a Hull FC season ticket holder.



What amazed me was finding out that, despite being built like a rugby player, Tim Bresnan had trials for Leeds United!

of course no better time for some tongue in cheek promotion of the upcoming 4 nations tournament - along the lines of, 'bored by the union world cup? - try another variety' backed with some quotes from these celebs, but you just know the rfl wont do anything like this, sadly
