Briscoe on Fox was a great tackle, although I do think Rovers should have scored before the ball even went to Fox.



Murrell on Fitzgibbon at the KC, Aizue on Wheeldon, Lynton Stott on Salford player (Maybe littler).



Worst/dirtiest one is Newton on Aston Sims.

Without a doubt Tom Briscoe's on Fox takes some beating - the determination and technique he used was absolutely faultless.



As another Robin has mentioned Lynton Stott pulled off a beauty on a Salford player. Just to add to it, it was the 2003 season, IIRC we were on course to finish 4th whilst Salford had already clinched the Minor Premiership (and would go on to win the GF). It was the dying seconds of the game with us winning by either 1 or 2 points. Salford break away down the left and it looked a certain try, Stott desperately lunged at the player, angle-tapped up, bringing the guy to the ground and the impact knocking the ball free, with what must have been inches from the line. Absolutely fantastic, and moments later the hooter went to give us a great win.





There's one on that popular video site in the NRL where Gordon Tallis literally throws a guy around like a rag doll in the process of forcing him into touch.

Sovatabua (sp), Sheffield Eagles full-back got kinda turned inside out by Danny Peacock but then pulled off a great tackle, think it was 1997 when the Bulls won at Dony Valley to clinch the title.

Paul Anderson running at full pelt towards the line after a break with only Steve Prescott stood in his way, superb technique brought him down.

The Tallis drag on Hodgson does nothing for me - it's hardly good technique and it is just a case of one man being bigger than another... each to their own though



For the opposite effect of a smaller man downing a bigger man with good technique look no further than Thomas Leuluai on Maurie Fa'asavalu

I can't choose between Kieran Cunningham's on Smith, Tallis dragging out Hodgson in SoO, and Jarryd Hayne against the Bulldogs (to see this just type in 'Jarryd Hayne tackle' on the website which must not be named).

Is it just on the VT where we can't name 'that' popular site where you can upload and or view videos?



Doesn't seem to be the case on most of the other boards on here?

Just watched the Hayne tackle again and he certainly benefits from Stagg grounding the ball before line for some reason (and then spinning him into touch before he can ground it in goal). Any half decent finisher would have scored a try
