everyone is assuming the BBC are interested.

Which is unlikely as AFAIK they don't show any domestic sport live.

championship football is live on the bbc....BBC northern ireland & scotland show live celtic league union games...and of course they show the challenge cup live......

Although that does contradict Londo06's earlier post. Also the BBC shows some football Championship games and I think some League Cup games. Although I'd agree with your basic point that live domestic sport is a bit thin on the ground for the BBC. Which may be an advantage if they are looking to increase the amount of domestic sport they show.



2 games a week on Sky and 1 game + highlights shown nationally at a reasonable time on the BBC would be great.

It would be great, but only if the revenue recieved from the TV deals matched what we are currently getting. Otherwise a number of super league clubs would go bust



I would be suprised if we could do that as I doubt sky would be willing to pay much without exclusivity



I would be happy to be wrong as it would be great for the game, but £££ is what clubs need.

The BBC would be a great coup for RL if they picked up the saturday game.

Best for the next 3-5 years would be for Sky to pick it up and offer the same (or more) money. Any extra money going to develop the lower tier and thank Sky very much for promoting the Championship. In 3-5 years the Championship may just have have hit a marketable level where we could offer it for free to the BBC and actually get interest in SL from the masses. Maybe 5 years after that the BBC would pay for it.

How about we don't raise the salary cap (because that's all that Wigan fans want, moan and whinge about) but get clubs financially stable first and clubs regularly turning a profit?

Wimbledon - Tennis is a domestic sport.

Championship football is domestic sport.

Yep. That's far more important and beneficial to the game than an increase in the cap which wouldn't see our ability to compete on wages with the NRL or Union increase by much.

Wimbledon is not a domestic competition. It does not involve domestic competitors.

Championship football is though, although not elite.



Not that it matters. Just because they don't show (much of) it, doesn't mean they won't.
