Ok then--that would be the area that has a police force;
Humberside Police Authority
A fire service;
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service
An airport
Humberside Airport
A radio station
BBC Radio Humberside
And in my defence--as I am 'old school';
Humberside was a non-metropolitan and ceremonial county in Northern England from 1 April 1974 until 1 April 1996. It was composed of land from either side of the Humber Estuary, created from portions of the East and West ridings of Yorkshire and parts of Lindsey, Lincolnshire. The county council's headquarters were County Hall at Beverley, inherited from the East Riding, and its largest settlement and only city was Kingston upon Hull.
Whether you like it or not--you knew the point I was trying to make and tried to be clever. You failed--if you didnt, there are an awful lot of clowns in the area (presumably with no brain cells) calling things after an area that does not exist.
