It has been confirmed tonight that Super League will be reduced to 12 teams from 2015, and the bottom two clubs in 2014 will be relagated. The RFL exploring the two options of 12 team structures they have.
Mid Season split of 3 league of 8 teams or 2 leagues of 12 teams with promotion and relegation are the structures.

Won't happen due to the Fed trained rules. Clubs can only have a maximum of 5 players who were trained outside Europe and have to have at least 5 (I think) who have come through their own youth system in their squad.
I'm just hoping they forget this mid season split idea and just have 2 leagues of 12 |

Totally agree. U23 or U21 with the option to play up to 3 overage players. I don't mind the duel reg but it should be restricted to players under the age of 21. |

Aye, nobody ever went bust or ran their club badly under P&R, did they?
Still, it might create one final round game that Sky can show and make a piece of sporting theatre out of. Will also give fans of Championship clubs a chance to feel part of the big time for one season. Ask Leigh what a positive effect getting relegated had on their club. |
