Whilst I admire your passion.....I'd leave the TV negotiations to those that know what they are doing. I fear for your sanity if the NRL don't get what you believe they deserve.....

now we know what AFL will get first and we wont accept foxtel underpaying us to overpay them



foxtel will have to pay us around 50% more than what they pay the AFL per game



well have an extra game for fox too so foxtel should be looking at a minimum $50, $70 million increase



then the rest is FTA and origin,

$750 - 800 million is an average result



he knows this time what afl will get, hes got stats which show we are number 1 and there are other stats which show we generate 50% more advertising then afl



he needs to match afl to be a good leader

i can't stand the game.

because they have decent management and no conflict of interest ownership. Look at Ch9, Telstra, Fox. The 3 big players in NRL are all in bed with one another one way or another. Throw in News ownership and ARL's spineless yes men and you have a recipe for some serious rorting.



Also AFL have teams in, or representing, every capital city. The perception is that AFL is a bigger more national sport amongst joe public, perception leads to reality of $'s in deals.



I don;t think the IC is going to be in long enough to have a massive impact on the next TV deal, hopefully the 2018 one will see us move ahead of AFL.

Because it attracts fans to games in massive numbers.......it is uniquely Australian and advertisers will pay top dollar to be associated with it.......

when the SL tore RL apart AFL got lucky, having its major competitor decimated and they went from a distant second to having a lot of money



in the end of the day, more money doesnt mean a better game



every person in NSW has had AFL shoved down their throat, yet the NRL continues its growth

we destroyed RU, AFL is next



even with the damage of the SL war the nrl will become the number 1 sport by a long way again



if AFL had a SL war it wouldnt recover
