Such a shock when a hero passes on. A talented & whole-hearted performer; I was at York in August 1974, when Colin beat Northern on his own, a performance which lead to the club securing his services- within days. Colin did hold the record for ‘most tries scored in a season by a prop’ - (17, I think it was- in 77/7icon_cool.gif though unsure if that record still stands. I recall the match during which he secured the record, with teammates regularly lining him up to score- before eventually doing so- may have been v Hunslet- but could be wrong. Requiescat in pace Colin.

I recall mick Morgan beating the record for a prop in a season, I think it was in the lower division though

Poor form not to have any mention or a minutes silence for Colin before the match in my humble opinion.

Yes, I quite agree, a minutes silence would have been exactly right.



I'm sorry but I don't agree with the idea of applause. It is not fitting for a death, imho. It was only ever introduced because certain other crowds couldn't be trusted not to start chanting and singing songs; RL is better than that and there is no need to copy this.

I agree about the minutes silence. I think it shows more respect than applauding. It's a bug bear of mine is the applauding or maybe I'm out of the ark.

It was a great shame that no tribute was given by the club in the form of a minutes silence. Hobbo and Pete did a bit in their broadcast on BcB but even Hobbo said he was surprised that there was no tribute. Also they mentioned that Damian Irving is now working at the Bulls any one else heard or know if that’s true?

Irvine has been up there in a consultancy capacity I think.



I hear that there was no tribute because someone in the club hierarchy thought Forsyth played more at York and that they should do the tribute. Sounds a bit mean spirited to me.

154 appearances over 6 years is what I've got - not exactly a 'bit part' player.
