What changed over the 7 months since
Still it's a quota spot the club is bigger than any one player.'"
The birth of their daughter and not being paid on time during the summer probably.

That's the risk you take when you move overseas. He had a contract of employment that he's reneged on.
The getting paid late thing was unfortunate but hardly the end of the world. They got paid shortly after and they all got paid during the period of administration unlike most people.
If that's why he's left he's going to have a shock in the real world.
Could have been a legend but turned out to be just another quitter. A quota spot that's all he is.

| Not too upset about this.Think it's time Obrien should be given his chance, offers something very different to Lestrange and Diskin, pace.Another quota spot available and more cash to spend.
Would ideally of preferred Diskin to be the one that left instead of Lestrange but not to worry.
Maybe a big overseas centre coming in now

| Early summer, there were some rumours about L'Estrange having an "NRL Break" clause in his contract allowing him to leave if an NRL club made him an offer. No mention of that in the T&A piece.
He's leaving pre-season, after 5 hard years at the club, to raise his daughter in Aus, with family rather than in the North of England. Totally understandable.
Good luck & best wishes Heath.

All true, but I also thought this is could be an opportunity from the board to save a lot of money.
(I also realised my last post could've been a bit y, it wasn't meant to be if you read it as such)

We're not going to lose 2 forwards and sign a back are we?
Crying out for more in the front row.

| I've been quick to jump on the clubs back recently, but I don't think there's anything else they could do on this one.
I will be very annoyed if there's no extra investment in playing terms.
I'm not sure how much of a coincidence it is that these announcements seem to fall after the early bird deadline, but it's not going to convince those of us who haven't bought one yet to 'belong' for next year.

I sincerely hope not. But I guess that'll come out in the wash.
Hopefully not and it allows us to strengthen elsewhere

| Throw the wages of Langley, L'Estrange, Bateman and Platt, as well as the players Purtell and Henry at New Zealand Warriors to sign Konrad Hurrell! The lad was immense for Tonga yesterday.

Woah just a bit Maccbull, iirc he was contracted till the end of last season and had an option' for another year. Fair enough, he's done a little bit of will I, won't I, but finally decided not to take up the option and go back to Aus.
He's been superb for us, imo and I wish him and his family nothing but the best for the future. I can't wait to see more of Adam O'B next season.

| he's made the decision that most of us would have done. he seems to have done it properly with the club as he would have been pondering this for many months now and I am sure the club knew he was about to make a decision one way or the other. He decided the obvious way and will get a contract down under quickly. We now need to show some faith in O'Brien as he has served his apprenticeship and never said a word out of place - unlike others. This is what our youth scheme is there to do so lets give him his chance.
