| Quote M@islebugs="M@islebugs"I take Moore's point but OK didn't start with zero, he started with a responsibility to put a SL team on the park for people to watch with no sponsorship, no lease on the ground, 50% Sky money and an understanding that even with full Sky money the previous board were losing 100k a month. That's a little bit different. Actually he started with a massive minus.
On the budgets I haven't seen them but have you ever met a new board who came out said the business they are taking over was well run? I haven't and Gerry Sutcliffe said the exact same thing in his office just after the take over.
My point is hold off on the rush to condemn OK. You know I think the actions of the Hood/RFL in the year before admin made matters much worse than necessary and I think both Guilfoyle and Sadler said different groups pulled out when they saw the books.
In short, OK is a restauranteur without any grounding in RL who didn't have to elbow anyone out of the way to buy a basket case. It looks like he failed and but the idea he and Sutcliffe left a situ worse than they found it sounds nonsense.'"
Totally agree with this post. We started out with minus NOTHING. Not many staff, Omar brought his own staff in to cover the shortfall in the catering side. Plus the people who knew how to manage the Stadium in total were no longer there. It was hard work for all concerned and perhaps we don't know the full story. The lack of revenue from the seven weeks without a game only made the situation much worse. The only revenue at that time appeared to be the Coral Stand - which held functions. It is always easy to be wise after the event.

| Just wonder regarding the Sky money,if the one was sacrificed for the benefit of the struggling few.I would have thought that to safeguard the integrity of the RL family, that the Bulls Sky monies should be retained to pay off their creditors. This way, there would be security for new investment rather than edging the Club closer to extinction.Obviously not a penalty against the Bulls, but on the other hand, not a leg up to others at our expense in challenging times.

Indeed. If they'd gone down that route I don't think many would have argued against it. However..

| I went to an event at in the coral stand last year - an under elevens tournament was being played. I think twelve teams each wth between 12 and 20 players had matches. So probably between 250 and 300 adults watching. It should have been money rolling into the club but they only had one person working on the bar. It took 20 minutes to yet served, they had no cold soft drinks and the gas for the beer ran out on all but one pump; they also had no crisps or other snacks available to buy. The situation was made more farcical when anotherbmember of the staff helped out but as she was strich muslim would only serve coffee. Many gave up on trying to get served.
Similar events at headingley always have fully stocked bars and at least three staff available to work the bar.

And there was wondering why Mr Whitcut had a string of failed pubs behind him

| According to the League Express Luke Gale will be sold to Hull FC. Jarrod Sammut potentially next on the list.
Entire first team squad being told to take a 10% pay cut to reduce the wage bill.

| We could cope with loss of Gale, but Gale and Sammut? We will struggle then.

| I dont think Gale has been happy since his best bud Whitehead jumped ship earlier in the year, he does have the odd good game but they are lost amongst the number of horrid ones.
Have to keep Sammut, but the number of tries the bearded weirdo scores is something we cannot do without, let Addy and Gaskell fight it out for the number 7 and keep Sammut.
