Got a whisper last week, that we were lining up Kear - I'm pleased, insofar as it stabilises us and we'll be hard to beat. He is 63 though, so want to see him paired with a young, hungry and longer term successor.

I think it’s brilliant that both Aaron Bower and Ross Heponstall have broken this and it’s made the club then have to have a media meeting tomorrow to unveil the coaching staff. I still feel that there are a few more twists and turns yet to unfold before the season gets underway.

Well it explains some of the deadline delay if Kear threw his hat in the ring last minute and also needs to negotiate a release from Wakey. Also those applicants that "mysteriously" withdrew probably were told they weren't in the running and given the option to withdraw gracefully!

If this comes to fruition along with new shirts on sale it will be an impressive bit of plate spinning considering the plates are wobbling badly!
