From a supporter of a team that Thackray has played for, you don't want him. He carries so much baggage and upsets the team ethic so much, that anything he contributes on the pitch is almost negligible.



It's no coincidence that he's been moved on from most of the "senior" clubs he has played at.



IMHO, you need to concentrate on picking up quality and building over the next few years whilst you get your juniors upto speed.



It may well be that the most important signing you could make for next year is a new coach rather than any new players...

What about Tommy Lee from Hull, we are going to need cover at halfback next season and i cant see us signing Danny Brough. He's only 21 and can play 6,7,9 and 13.

Would be a good cover signing I reckon. We definitely need some more competition in the halves too.

As long as you could get him banned from every pub in the area he'd be ok, but you really need to be looking at getting better quality than Tommy Lee.

I'm not suggesting he come in as first choice, purely as a backup player to create some competition in a place we are lacking. Rather him than bloody Thorman anyway.

I agree. I think Tommy Lee is a clever little player and has good utility value. He wont be able to demand the dollars because he hasn't lived up on his early potential and developed into the class player that was expected. However, he has a good rugby brain on him.



Good brain, Versatile and Realativley cheap would make the ideal candidate for cover in my books.

I agree with you. He's picks the wrong option the majority of the time. To slow with ball in hand plus he isn't the most professional of players.
