Sounds as though Lenegan is leading an effective revolt of SL clubs over the RFL's failure to provide sponsorship or satisfactory coverage for the game. Could potentially scupper the proposed restructure. This is from Chris Irvine on Twitter.

Well our McManus has been banging the drum about restructuring the game in the right manner for about 2 seasons now.

The RFL have reduced the game to well below expectations, perhaps we will end up with a 10 team superleague, trouble is the timing might be off with the current economic climate.

Except a Superleague take over isn't the right manner. Its the manner of a few self-interested chairman, with the obnoxious Leneghan at the forefront, may the gods help us.



The RFL clearly needs to change. It's full of administrators and little else. The media department don't know how to deal with the media. Nobody has an ounce of creativity or dynamism about them. But what we don't need is a bunch of rich chairmen protecting their own investments in charge. Read League Weekly to get a fuller report on what this is all about. And they kick up this fuss right before the world cup. That'll bring the punters (and following money) into the game obviously. Arrogant fools.
