| Quote St pete="St pete"Chill mate, lovestospooge is ok. I don't think he's trying to be funny but just giving his honest opinion.'"
I think he makes a fair point too.
Foster isn't a speedster, he doesn't have a big sidestep like Lomax for example and he doesn't break tackles because he isn't particularly big either. But, he is a very reliable player, he's tough, he's become a good defender who positions himself better than he used to (gained with experience), he's a good finisher and now his confidence is up, his goal kicking is top drawer. He also shows moments of excellent skill e.g. his try at Leeds. He also doesn't miss many games like some of our other youngsters - so he's durable too. He's becoming a good first team player and whilst I don't think he'll ever be a stand out player, he's good with the outstanding ability to kick goals.

| Quote LovesToSpooge="LovesToSpooge"All I'm saying is I don't see anything special about Foster, other than excellent kicking game. If you compare him with Jermaine Mcgilvray at Huddesfield, who's far less experienced than Foster. McGilvary is the far better player IMO. His kick returns and general play are far more dangerous to the opposistion than what Foster ever offers.'"
Far less experienced? A mighty 6 SL games less than Foster over 2 years?
No place in this league for solid wingers who finish well and kick goals. Unless they play for Wigan, in which case they become Man Of Steel contenders.
p.s. Mcgilvray busts more tackles and makes more clean breaks than Pat too if you go by JM's 2011 stats and PR's "Man Of Steel" winning 2010 season; I suppose you could say "his kick returns and general play are far more dangerous to the opposistion than what Richards ever offers".

"In rugby league Halligan was renowned as a fine goalkicker, his 855 first grade goals coming at an impressive 80% success rate. He was the first person to score 2,000 points in the NRL. At the time of his retirement he held the competition point-scoring record at 2,034 points. He also scored 80 tries, and kicked 4 field goals."

I'm a bulldogs fan and can recall him very well. He was pretty slow tho and teams started kicking behind him all the time.
He was pure points machine tho!

| All im saying in that 27 appearances (3 as a sub) for Saints Jamie Foster has scored 16 tries and kicked 119 goals already for 302 points.
9 tries already this season How is that the sign of a weak link or bad player?
With reg to Halligan, only scored 80 odd tries over a very long career but was deadly with the boot, invaluable to any team.

302 points in 27 games is a unbelievable return!
Does anyone know when his contract is up?

| And if foster continues in this form and stays injury free he will reach 2000 points for saints in 179 games.
Points Machine, rather have him than be on the end of his scoring.

| We have lost so many games over the years due to not having a goalkicker, it is so important against good teams. He is easily good enough to be playing out there whilst we make use of his kicking talent, and still has a lot of development both physically and skillfully.
However, will he be willing to gain a shedload of muscle if this will affect his Beckham-like appearance?
