Two years suits both parties pretty well for me.



Kyle will be able to stake a claim for that number 7 jersey on a long-term basis during those 2 years, at the end of this period he may well feel entitled to a larger wage, and the club be more convinced that he is worth it.



On the flip-side, we're talking about a kid with undoubted potential but who has actually only played around 15 games for us. We could have made him our top earner for the next 5 years, but what if he falls by the wayside? There are plenty who have. 2 years means we don't have a chunk of salary cap tied up in a player who isn't doing the business.

Is it 2yr deal?



I said while ago when everyone was saying he was going sale that a deal had been agreed between Kyle and saints and was just a matter of Kyle putting pen to paper.



The person who told me this told me he had agreed a 4yr deal.

So is it 2 years from now or 2 years from the end of his current deal?



If its the former then its a big risk by the club IMO. If he turns out to be brilliant it will be a lot harder to keep hold of him at that stage. He'll be 22 by then.

Indeed. We're going to have a real battle on our hands every time his contract is up for renewal, so the longer the deal is the better it is for Saints (and the shorter it is the better it is for Kyle)

Is 100% 2yrs he's signed for?

No idea - I'm just going off what's on here. But my guess is Saints will be looking for a long term deal and Kyle/Offiah will be looking for something shorter term, so it may have to be a compromise.

Someone who works for a super league club (not saints) told me a while ago that he'd agreed a deal and it was a 4yr deal.
