I've never known it so quiet. It's like the whole club is on a downer at the mo

| Quote SaintsFan="SaintsFan"If Saints turn up on Saturday and are able to play a decent game of rugby league, I think you'll find the fans' chanting/singing voices will return. '"
We only sing when we're winning eh? That's not acceptable to me. When your team is up against it, as we appear to be, the best thing for us to do as supporters is to get behind our team with as much encouragement as possible. The team need some inspiration and the vocal support given by home fans is an underrated contribution to a team's success. It can make the difference between winning and losing.

I don't think I used the word 'winning' in my post? I said 'turn up'. There is a difference. I think if the team is [icompeting[/i then that gives something for the fans to get behind. If it is not, as was the case on Friday (and has been the case for a while, Leeds away excepted), then what is there for the fans to support? The minute we attempted something - Kyle's break for the tryline for instance - was there not an immediate response from the crowd? Of course there was.

Actually rugby league has always been about cheering and applauding good play regardless of whether from the home or opposition - it's not bloody football with no sportsmanship and good manners.

Yeah, whatever.
You could try reading posts instead of giving a lecture. This was not about sportsmanship. The group around me, like so many at Knowsley Road on Friday night, were silent towards their own team (except when Kyle broke for the line) but began clapping and therefore watching the opposition. Of course RL fans recognise and sometimes applaud good play, no matter who it is making it. But that is not what it was about on Friday night.

| I've got a load of cards printed out ready for the game. Instead of the cliched "T-R-Y" and "N-O T-R-Y" I've got ones that say "B-O-O-!!"
If they go into the game and works their socks off, try some new things and come off short I'll cheer them till the sun comes up.
If we go out there looking half asleep and play one out up the middle rugby and get hammered like the last few months seems to have been, I'm gonna reserve the right to boooooooO!

I might do one with 'HISS' on it.
All that would be missing is 'BEHIND YOU!'. Full panto then.

| Quote McClennan="McClennan"I wouldn't bother getting worked up about it mate because most on the terraces are only interesting in chatting, moaning and booing these days. Our vocal support is likely to be absent again. Where's the sound of the new generation?'"
I disagree mate, I was stood in the eddington end on friday and can confirm those around me were are also interested in texting each other, wrestling/pushing over each other/into others, trying to flirt with each other, and trying to abuse the ''onion munchers" as they so eloquently put it, and calling each other "gay" at every available opportunity. Sadly that seems to be the sound of the new generation of supporters.
