This i doubt highly. Expect more of the same, unless we get some major motivation it will be a quick and slightly less painful exit to 2012.

There's a very, very good chance that we will have to play at the DW 3 times in 4 weeks - for me it would be a monumental mistake to approach this weekend's game with any great degree of seriousness at all or expend any great amount of energy on trying to win it. We should be resting a few players on Friday and keeping Rush's brilliant tactical plan (pfff) under wraps and then using the 2nd game the week after as a more serious warm-up instead so we are then ready and raring to go with all guns blazing at whatever meagre hopes of producing a performance we have for the 3rd game. And then we can go to O/T and get torn to pieces by Warrington. Marvellous.



Of course nothing of the sort will happen and the exact same 17 will turn up for all 3 games playing exactly the same tactics and exactly the same 1-up football and get mullered in exactly the same way each game.

Full strength team for this game, if there is a possibilty of Wigan resting a couple and there is a sniff of winning , I would take it. That means we finish 3rd and play Wire, winnable.

I'm old school. Every Wigan v Saints game matters at any level (and any sport) I don't care if both teams field reserve sides, the result will always be in the history books.

for one i agree with rouges, never field a weak team especially against wigan, every game against our main rivals counts

We should send in the Hit Man Magennis again to wipe a few of there players out by hook or crook.

Thus picking up bans and we can afford to do without him in the playoffs

I can understand what some have said here, that they don’t want to go to the GF this time if it means to lose again. I feel the same, to lose in the playoffs and not get there, or have your ar*e kicked in a humiliating GF defeat. It’s not being a defeatist (well it is really) but if Wigan got there and lost badly I too would sooner not go. It’s all down to what degree of misery and when, it's just when your team isn’t playing well, but you always hope the next game may be the big turn round.

Yes of course...we all know if we had to go away to Wire we would have no chance!! Not like we have been there and won this season, and we all know how good Warrington's record is against Saints (and in playoff games in general with their 2 playoff victories in 14 years) - lets hope we get smashed on Friday and have to pay Wigan again or we might as well not bother turning up week after

Agreed. All the pressure is on Warrington this year. The Pies have one SL title in the bag so they're not under as much pressure to acheive. Now Warrington. That's a different story. For many this may be their last ever chance at winning this title. Who would want that kind of legacy pressure placed upon them in such high pressure games? It's why champions are decided in the playoffs and not during the regular season. In our sport, not only do you need to win on a regular basis to stay in contention, you also need to win when it matters. Best of both worlds.

Prediction : Wigan will be fired up, we won't be. Expect embarrassment.
