| What a load of whining rubbish, as I have said on the Quins Site, I have paid £24 for a stand seat at Knowsley Road and then have to fight to see the try line and a dirty window at the end of the stand, that I don't think has ever been cleaned does not help!
I agree it is wrong to not offer a ticket for the League game only, but there is not that much difference in price, sad to read though the parochial sad shouts of I hope Quins fold! - every club has it's problems, 8,000 plus at Knowsley Road while just down the road the same night in Wigan 15,000 plus and it is a smaller town, so don't preach to other clubs, I live in the Borough, can you tell me when you last saw a poster advertising a Saints game?

only joking
. RL rules the world and Saints are more famous than Wigan.
I came on to this board as a friend, supporting your claim that this was wrong, but true to type....you come across as whinging workshy (but we've gotta have SKY shel) idiots.....good job and good luck with the new stadium.

We sold the ground out without posters last weekend thanks, when Quins can drag in more than 3,000 fans every week you can start questioning the marketing of a team that averages over 10,000.
I'm a big Quins fan and watch them quite often (living in Reading) but getting all defensive won't solve anything. Fact is the Quins club is going backwards at a rate of knots from top to bottom and at the moment they offer very little indeed.

It was your choice to pay £24 for a seat. You could have paid £18 to stand or even a couple of pounds less if you had booked tickets in advance.
St Helens has a population of just over 100,000 while the Wigan borough has just over 305,000. Proportionally you would expect them to get a bigger attendance, but as a % of population, St Helens are better supported (10% as opposed to 5%).
Our average attendance last season was well in excess of 10,000, one of the criteria for Franchise I believe, and has steadily increased over the last 5 years.

Given that I pay anything up to £19 to stand on concrete under a hole that drips rain on me I really don't have a problem with the charge, no. But if I did have a problem with it, I wouldn't verbally bash up the heads of Quins fans who can do nothing about it and probably feel really embarrassed about it. Also, I wouldn't storm off in a huff, cancelling hotels and God knows what. I thought the idea was to support Saints?
The reaction on here is really embarrassing.

exactly - in the grand scheme of things, its not that much more than usual, its not that much more than you pay at other grounds (£20 to stand at Wakey), so it wont affect my attendance of the game (i'm on holiday so wont be going anyway
the biggest issue for me is the way that RL in London is being run - crowds are at an all time low, schemes like this will only cause more resentment towards the club from its loyal supporters and wont exactly encourage others to turn out to watch them.

But that still isn't the fans' fault and so why do people keep on at the fans about it?

The OP was having a go at the Quins club, not the fans. As were most of the others.
The only fan who got some chat was the one calling Saints fans w@nkers and work-shy and justifying a hike in prices to watch a RU game taking place before most RL fans would have arrived by having a pop at Saints' main stand . . .

So would you be "happy" if Saints told you that they were going to host St Helens Town FC a couple of hours before the Wigan match on Good Friday, and that you will have to pay £10 more on top of your seat price, whether you want to watch the football or not?
That is basically the situation that is being created by Quins here.
If it was Wigan, I would have to think VERY hard about whether to attend the Quins match, because quite simply, you are being ripped off.
This should be an OPTIONAL double-header ticket, not a compulsory one. Mainly because, as stated above, the coaches which are transporting the fans will not arrive in time to get the "benefit" of the additional game that you have been forced to pay for.
Anybody refusing to go because of this, you have my support.
No RL club can afford to alienate fans in this way right now, least of all the club with (probably) the lowest average attendance in the league.
And as to using this scam as a way to massage their average figures for the RFL - They should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm not being defensive, if you read what I say! I am willing to admit the current problems, but don't preach about selling out the ground, over 6,000 travelled from Warrington and you get many attendances well Under 10,000 it is purely the Warrington and Wigan fixture, two better supported clubs home and away that boost your average. If you think your marketing is good then you head is in the sand!
Quins RL have problems, but the whining of £25 is what we are discussing, and as I stated you pay £24 for a seat at Knowsley Road, away supporters may claim they are paying for a pre-march game. I supported the name change, but now I have doubts! just like I will always call the Dunriding Lane ground Knowsley Road, definitely not a stadium LOL - 3 Northern clubs in Super League get few more than 5,000 and one team is only two points above is, should they go as well?

I guess you mean us?
If you're getting into that debate, I think one of Wakey/Cas should go, there are far too many West yorks teams in the comp as it is. I think top flight RL in London is vital for the game, but £25 to watch a union game that you'll miss anyway is just daft.
